Creating Content at the Show

Whether it's a lack of time and resources or maybe a bit of creativity block, many bizav companies struggle with consistently creating new content for their audience.

There is a phrase that is very popular with marketers - "Content is King." It was originally coined by Bill Gates in an essay he wrote back in 1996 but still stands true today, more than ever.

Content creation is one of the most effective ways to connect with your customers, prospects, and partners. Content can come in all forms, including video, images, graphics, articles, stories, blogs, posts, etc.

Through these different mediums, you can effectively communicate with your audience, get them engaged, and share the benefits of your products and services.

While I'd obviously suggest you plan to create and distribute new content before BACE, the event can be an awesome place to get creative and build your content library. I love high-quality production, but you don't need to get all fancy to be effective, and capturing content at the show can be done at relatively low or no cost. Here are 5 ideas to think about:

1. Take a lot of pictures and videos at the show. Customers, partners, employees, booths, products, planes, etc. Having a solid library of assets to use in the future is invaluable and eliminates the need for stock imagery.

2. Get video testimonials from customers. Ask them about their experience with your products and services. Having your customers tell your story can be more powerful than you telling your story. Some people may be camera shy. Offer a gift card or giveaway to get them on camera.

3. If there are customers that don't want to be on video, don't hesitate to do a voice recording and ask them the same questions. Audio clips can be used in several different pieces of content.

4. Shoot video walkthroughs of your products or services with your team members. Trade shows can be a great place to announce new capabilities or re-iterate some of your recent advancements.

5. Record podcasts at the show. There are few opportunities to get so many awesome people in one place. Sit down and talk about anything. Business, the industry, personal interests, etc.
